OpenSRS joins the SedoMLS network

OpenSRS has partnered with Sedo joining its SedoMLS network. If you aren’t familiar with it, SedoMLS is the world’s largest domain distribution network, placing more domain names in front of potential buyers than any other domain sales channel. By partnering with OpenSRS, Sedo is also expanding its distribution of both premium and new gTLD inventory to our reseller channel, further growing the reach of its inventory.

This is big news for OpenSRS given that we will now be able to automatically distribute premium domain name extensions to our resellers. Here are some of the benefits of this partnership:

  • Your customers will now be able to purchase domains from Sedo’s premium inventory of over 18 million – including the most exclusive new gTLD names – directly at your website and add them to their shopping cart.
  • New revenue: Earn commission revenue on domain sales, making your domain channel profitable.

    1. This may be a silly question, but what if we don’t want our domains listed for sale on Sedo, or any other network? I’m guessing that you’ll have that as an option, but the way your post here is worded, it sounds as though every domain registration will go on Sedo, regardless of whether or not the domain is actively in use for a site.

    2. Not a silly question at all. The reseller (or the reseller’s customer) would need to opt in to make the domain available for sale through SedoMLS. I have also updated the language in the blog post to eliminate the confusion. I hope this helps.

    4. Where can I find more information on this? I can’t find anything in the control panel and when I go over to Sedo and attempt to place a domain, it offers a list of participating registrars – OpenSRS not being one. It does list Tucows, so I choose that and it tells me that my registrar is not a participating registrar suggesting to transfer the domain to one which is.

    5. This implementation will be done by end of March. The blog post is not clear but we’ll be sure to update it with this info.

    7. Hi Oliver,

The integration has been completed as planned. Do you have any specific questions about it?
