On March 19, 2018, we will introduce a new pricing structure for domains. This will involve increases in our list prices and a move to a tiered, four-plan pricing structure that offers resellers greater discounts by rewarding strong performance and growth. Instead of offering a single price point for each TLD, we’ll provide discounted pricing based on new domain registration volume and annual domain spend. This change marks a significant departure from our current model and will make our pricing more flexible while maintaining a high-level of transparency. We’ve also taken the opportunity to simplify our TLD classification, reducing it to two categories – generic and geographic.

How will it work?

We know that to run your business, you depend on consistency in our pricing. Our new model guarantees your placement in your current plan for an entire calendar year, removing any risk that you will have to change plans during this time.

Promotional offers will remain in effect until their scheduled end date. Here again, the lowest price, whether that be the plan-based price or the promotional price, will always apply.

Determining your plan

Your plan has been determined based on your domain registration volume and annual domain spend between February 1, 2017, and January 31, 2018. You will receive an email that will indicate in which plan you will be placed.

Please note: For resellers that have been with us for less than 12 months, your domain spend and domain registration volume from your sign-up date until January 31, 2018, will be used to determine your projected performance, which will then be used to determine your pricing plan for 2018.

Annual review

At the end of every calendar year, we’ll conduct a performance assessment to determine your pricing plan for the following calendar year. We’ll look at the total domain spend and the total number of new domain registrations and transfers between January 1 and December 31. As a result of the annual assessment, you may stay in your pricing plan, but you may also be upgraded to a higher-discount plan or downgraded to a lower-discount plan. Your new pricing plan will go into in effect on February 1 of the new calendar year.

If you are experiencing good performance during a particular calendar year and would like to be considered for an upgrade, we encourage you to talk to our support team.
