Last week I had the very enjoyable experience of visiting Germany and attending WebhostingDay 2010. For OpenSRS as a whole, this was another great experience as well. The show was a wonderful chance to spend some time meeting with our resellers in Europe, and also a great way to show ourselves to some people who may not know us, or our business yet.
A mix of business and pleasure
Having been to WebhostingDay for the past two years now, I can attest to the fact that it is an excellent show for a company like ours because the organizers have created an event where there are elements of both business and pleasure.
Yes, there are many great sessions and panel discussions to choose from throughout the day where attendees can learn from the best people and companies in the region — everything from learning about how to grow your business through a better understanding of the market to seeing and hearing about about the newest and greatest technologies.
It’s about people
But WebhostingDay is also about getting to know people and about forging long-lasting relationships. We always enjoy any opportunities we may have to interact with our customers and get to know them better, and also to gain a better understanding of their business and how we might be able to help them grow it. And at WebhostingDay we also are able to demonstrate what it means to be a partner with OpenSRS for some people who maybe aren’t yet resellers.
Whether it’s hooting and hollering on the Black Mamba roller coaster ride with friends at lunchtime or perhaps enjoying wiener schnitzel and a kranz or two of Kölsch in the evening, spending some quality time with our resellers and colleagues in the industry is something we really love to do.
Relationships matter
It’s true that OpenSRS is a relationships company. This personal relationship that we strive to have with our customers is, we believe, critical to ensuring a successful partnership. When we have the chance to meet new people and new companies, we’re always excited to show them what we are all about, what it is that we can offer to them and their business.
So to all the people that we met at WebhostingDay this year, and to all of our resellers who were kind enough to stop by and say ‘hi’ to us again this year, we say thanks for making our stay in Germany at WebhostingDay an excellent one.
